Born on June 27, 1930 in Somerville, Florence was one of two children of the late Albert J. and Florence (née Adams) Johnson. She grew up in Somerville graduating from Somerville High School in 1948. She enjoyed spending time at her grandparent’s home with her grandparents, parents and her 14 aunts and uncles. That is where she learned to dance. She carried her love of dance into her later years where, throughout the 80’s, she helped to organize dances with her husband, Jim.

Florence married James M. Wilson, Jr. on October 1, 1950 at St. Catherine Church in Somerville. They went on to share many wonderful years and memories together.

Above all else, Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and proud homemaker. She was active in the lives of her family and always relished time together. She and Jim always looked forward to taking long walks on some of her favorite beaches. She was an amazing cook, baker, took great care of her gardens and home, and enjoyed reading a good book.

Trips to Ogunquit, Nahant Beach, Marblehead, Rockport, and Nubble Light were enjoyed by Florence and Jim. She truly loved all of New England.

Florence’s honesty, kindness, loving heart, along with her sense of humor and style will be missed by all those blessed to have known and loved her.
