WAKEFIELD — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is performing work on the Hopkins Street bridge that will result in road closures and detours. Hopkins Street, between Tarrant Lane and Brook Street, will have no through-traffic on August 10, 11, and 12.
Residential access is allowed at the following locations:
• North of the bridge through Tarrant Lane, and
• South of the bridge through Brook Street.
Traffic across the bridge will be granted for emergency access.
Construction operations (bridge deck surface texturing and milling and paving bridge approaches) is scheduled for 7 a.m. through 4 p.m. Normal traffic operations will resume after 4 p.m. The Wakefield Police Department has been notified and traffic detail officers will be requested.
