MELROSE — The 2024 city of Melrose Inaugural Ceremony will be held on Monday, Jan. 8, at Memorial Hall, 590 Main St., at 7:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
During the ceremony, U.S. Congresswoman Katherine Clark will swear in incoming Mayor Jennifer Grigoraitis. Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll will swear in incoming members of the Melrose City Council and the Melrose School Committee. Clark and Driscoll will also be delivering remarks. The ceremony will also include musical performances and readings by Melrose Public School students and community groups.
“I am looking forward to sharing this celebratory evening with the Melrose community,” said Mayor-elect Grigoraitis. “The night of Jan. 8 marks the beginning of a new chapter for Melrose and the start of our work together to move Melrose forward. I would be honored by your presence and the opportunity to express my gratitude for the incredible privilege of serving as the next Mayor of Melrose.
