WAKEFIELD — Margaret M. Maguire, 88, a longtime Wakefield resident, died Thursday, Oct. 29, at Wingate at Reading.
Born in Boston on Jan. 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Margaret (McCusker) Carter.
Mrs. Maguire was raised in Boston and was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1947 and was a devoted member of Saint Joseph Church.
Mrs. Maguire was the wife of the late James V. Maguire. She was the mother of Claire Maguire Winters and her husband Gerald and Joan Maguire Boodry and her husband Thomas, all of Wakefield, and the late James V. Maguire Jr. and Margaret M. Carlson. She was the grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of seven. She is also survived by her son-in-law A. Leonard Carlson of Reading.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Monday at 10 a.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday prior to the funeral Mass beginning at 8 a.m.
