NORTH READING — The Lady Hornets trounced the visiting Triton Vikings 6-0 on October 24. Senior captain Juliette Nadeau earned her third hat trick of the season and has scored a remarkable 23 goals.

North Reading exploded out of the gates and took control right from the opening kickoff. Nadeau and fellow senior Jerlin Kaithamattam both scored twice in the first 10 minutes and the Hornets were off and running with a 4-0 lead.

Nadeau would complete her hat trick in the 34th minute and junior Kaitlyn Shevlin added a goal three minutes later to give NRHS a commanding 6-0 halftime lead. The Hornets played superb defense in the second half and held the Vikings off the scoreboard and cruised to victory.

End regular season with a 3-0 win over Crusaders

The Hornets celebrated Senior Night in style on Thursday night with their 3-0 victory over the Bishop Fenwick Crusaders. Juliette Nadeau scored twice and finished the regular season with an astounding 25 goals in 18 games which leads the entire Cape Ann League.

Before the game seniors Jenna Barrows, Kirsten Bradley, Lauren Comeau, Rachel Foster, Meredith Griffin, Rachel Hill, Anna Jones, Jerlin Kaithamattam, Abigail Leighton, Morgan Lally, Megan Landers, Nadeau and Karlie Vesey were honored.

The game got off to a defensive start and remained scoreless for the first 20 minutes. But in the 22nd minute, Nadeau scored to break the deadlock and put NRHS in front. The lead remained 1-0 at the half.

North Reading put the game away early in the second half. In the 42nd minute, Nadeau struck again and five minutes later junior Kaitlyn Shevlin iced the game with goal number three to give the Hornets their third straight win.
