The North Reading Transcript was recently informed that beginning next week the U.S. Post Office in Woburn will be reducing its hours of operations.
Therefore, in order for us to meet our production deadlines and deliver the newspaper to the Woburn Post Office in time for it to be delivered on Thursdays to our North Reading customers, we must impose earlier deadlines for the submission of news, photos, letters to the editor, news tips, and the like.
The new deadlines are as follows:
• Social news and events: Fridays at noon for the following week’s publication.
• Obituaries and Letters to the Editor: Tuesdays at 10 a.m. No exceptions!
Please remember the golden rule of newswriting and include the “who, what, why, where and when” in your submissions to us.
Submissions should be typed and submitted via email (northreadingnews@wakefielditem.com) in a format that allows us to copy and paste your text into our programs rather that having to retype your work. Do not sent “read only” documents.
The submission of fliers and memes intended for social media and bulletin boards are not a substitute for a typed, brief synopsis of the event you wish us to publicize. It will delay the publication of your announcement.
• Photographs should be high-resolution (actual file size: minimum of 1MB) and sent as .jpg attachments. Please do not embed them into a word document.
• Our advertising deadlines will remain unchanged.
