NORTH READING — Hazel Thelma (Pierce) Sample, 93, of North Reading, died at her home on Thursday, April 30, 2020. She has been a resident of North Reading for the past 60 years.
Born in Lynn on May 17, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Alice F. (Stickney) Pierce. Hazel was the sister of the late Lawrence E. Pierce and the late Ethel (Pierce) Somerby.
She was raised and attended school in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn High School. Hazel worked in electronic plants, like General Electric in Lynn, and she also worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover.
Hazel was a kind and honest, loving wife to Roy V. Sample for 59 years. She was a homemaker and a good cook; she liked antiques and collected dolls.
