Collector of sports memorabilia who loved long walks and listening to the blues
WAKEFIELD — Joseph Anthony Croce Quinn, aged 80, passed away December 9 after battling a long illness. Born in Chelsea on November 7, 1943 and raised in Revere and Wakefield. He was the son of the late Irene F (Croce) Johnson and William F Quinn.
Joe was an avid collector of sports memorabilia and autographs. He loved to go for long walks with the family dog Cole through the neighborhood and woods. He would relax by listening to the blues and old time radio programs.
He was the loving husband for 43 years of the late Lisa C (Johnson) Quinn. He is survived by five children: Joseph M. Quinn and his wife Jeanne of Saugus; Earl T. Quinn and his wife Lorena of Newton; Sandra L. Quinn Vieira and her husband Robert of Fitchburg; Charles A. Quinn and his wife Sarah of Randolph; and Jason M. Quinn of Fitchburg. Puppy, as they affectionately called him, also leaves behind three grandchildren: Paige Quinn, Jacob Vieira and Wyatt Quinn, as well as two great grandchildren: Ashiah and Levi Vieira. He was predeceased by two sisters: Joanne (Quinn) Tripp and Cindy Johnson. He is survived by three brothers: William Quinn, Paul Johnson and Eric Johnson and one sister: Sandy Johnson, as well as his first wife Lucille Quinn.
He will be missed dearly.
A graveside service will be held at the Lakeside Cemetery, 501 North Ave., Wakefield on Saturday, December 16 at 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
