WAKEFIELD — The fifth annual Artisan Affair and Marketplace is taking place Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Press Room at the Wakefield Daily Item Building located at 26 Albion St., Wakefield.

There is plenty of parking and admission is free, so come on down and see what everyone is talking about while supporting local artisans.

The event features a variety of talented artists and vendors who will be selling their handmade and handcrafted wares. Favorite vendors will return and several new ones have joined the lineup. New vendors this year are Kristin’s Soaps, Bill Laforme Photography, Diane Corton Pottery, Trudy Delory’s Coastal Glassworks, The Popover Lady and Richard Bardet’s vintage tool plaques.

The Artisan Affair will feature a large variety of richly colored glazed pottery ranging from lanterns and mugs to bowls and dishes; beautifully crafted silver jewelry with precious stones by Hiller’s Silver Studio, as well as original watercolors and prints from Tommy Maguire and Keith Curtis’ oil pastels plus Kathi Lee Photography and Judy Hartman’s mixed media/fiber collage.

Spend some time chatting with the soap maker or rattle a sheep, pig or maybe a giraffe at Linda Frahm’s Sheeprattles table. Another favorite at the Affair is Dot’s Pots, which offers a huge selection and variety of beautifully crafted and functional pottery. There will also be a collection offered by Woodworks and additional unique pottery selections from Micki Trigilio and MAD Mud Pottery.

So avoid the crowds at the mall and start your holiday shopping early while supporting local artists at the Artisan Affair and Marketplace.
