Enjoyed traveling and Wednesday nights at Ipswich River Park with her husband
NORTH READING – Eleanor (Balestrier) Barrasso, 72, beloved wife of the late Eugene J. Barrasso, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born in Cambridge, she is the loving daughter of the late Michael and Joan (DePietro) Balestrier.
Eleanor grew up in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She married the love of her life, Gene, and settled in North Reading. Eleanor worked for over 30 years as a systems analyst for John Hancock Financial until her retirement. Eleanor and Gene enjoyed many great times together and had countless friends. They enjoyed traveling and Wednesday nights at Ipswich River Park. Her greatest joy came from her nieces and nephews; they were the highlights of her life. She will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted family.
She is the loving sister of Lawrence Balestrier of Somerville and the late Donald Balestrier and the late Janice Stanford. Cherished aunt of Lori Paquin and the late Daniel Diodati of Braintree, Sharon Baldwin and her husband Jason of Attleboro, Lisa Lesperance of Saugus, Susan Newcomb of Stoneham and Stephen Balestrier of Texas. Eleanor will also be missed by her many great nieces and nephews, and countless nieces and nephews from her Barrasso family and many other extended family members.
Family and friends were cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service was celebrated at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 11 a.m.
Interment will be held privately.
