WAKEFIELD — Ronald Jude Martin, 70, of Wakefield died suddenly June 3.
Born in Somerville on Dec. 26, 1944, he was the son of the late Amanul F. and Grayce A. (Daniels) Martin.
Ronald was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. He later graduated from the former Calvin Coolidge College of Boston. He had retired as partner from the Complete Industrial Cleaning Company of Wakefield.
Ronald had served as past president of the Wakefield Little League and had also coached for the Wakefield Little League and Wakefield Youth Soccer programs.
He was a member of the Wakefield Knights of Columbus Council 104 and St. Joseph Church.
He was an avid tomato gardener and loved to cook.
Ronald was the beloved husband of Virginia C. (Cannon). He was the loving father of Christian S. Martin and his wife Christine of Swampscott and Pamela M. Preston and her husband Matthew of Andover. He was the loving grandfather of Erik and Samantha Martin, Magnolia, James and Molly Preston. He was the brother of Carol Schumacher of Oregon, Angela Cooper of California and Grayce Skillman of Lowell.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Tuesday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Monday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.
