MELROSE — Thomas J. Hunt passed away at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on July 16, at the age of 82. Thomas was born in Boston on June 7, 1941 to the Late Thomas & Anna (Connolly) Hunt. Thomas was a proud “Townie”.
With honor, Thomas served his country after graduating from Melrose High School as a proud member of the U.S Navy. He was a proud plumber for the Local 12 Union for many years.
Thomas was a proud grandfather. He enjoyed having summertime cookouts and pool parties with the family. He and his wife Sandra enjoyed taking trips to Hampton Beach and loved playing his daily number.
Thomas was the devoted husband of 58 years to Sandra (Spinney) Hunt. Loving father to Lori–Anne Hunt of Saugus; Stephen Hunt and his wife Bethany of Florida; Kristin Reedy and her husband Michael of New Hampshire; Nichole Murray and her husband Jeff of Westford; Renee Marceau and her husband Roger III of Wakefield; and Jeff Hunt of Beverly. Grandfather of Allison, Kaitlin, Nicole, Connor, Emily, Keira, Thomas, Kendall, Benjamin and Gabriella.
Visiting hours were held in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, July 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, July 21 at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Church, Herbert St., Melrose. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Family, relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
