LYNNFIELD — Two Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG) members have been selected to participate in the Rockport Art Association & Museum’s National Representational & Contemporary Fine Art National Juried Show at the Hibbard & Maddocks Galleries as well as online.

LAG Co-President Cathy Grassello and Guild member Elizabeth Noble will have their artwork displayed from Saturday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 5.

This is the second time Grassello has been so honored in this national show. Her piece, “Heaven on Earth” was entered in the photography category and is the same piece that earned a third place ribbon and a Wakefield Co-operative Bank Award at the LAG’s May show. Grassello is a former television writer/producer as well as an eCommerce project manager.

“I am looking forward to continuing to develop my photography skills, acumen, and creativity,” said Grassello. “I expect photography to be, not my retirement, but my next career and chapter.”

Largely self-taught, Grassello said her photography was “greatly influenced by the wonderful photojournalists, still and video, that I was privileged to work with.”

Noble’s watercolor illustration “Peppermint” was the artist’s first attempt to enter the juried competition.  She is a new member of the Experimental Group at RAA&M. In addition to this upcoming national show, Noble also has two pieces in the Emerging Artist show at RAA&M, taking place Aug. 26-Sept. 24.

Noble is a Wakefield painter and illustrator. She uses art to investigate her surroundings, seeking beauty and meaning in the mundane. Bold mark-making unifies her work, which ranges from intricate drawings to large-scale oil paintings. She uses simple subjects and experiences for her compositions, asking viewers to look more closely at the layered stories tucked into every corner of daily living.

LAG spokeswoman Beth Aaronson said the guild is “proud of its members’ success.” She invites the public to visit the Guild’s website www.lynnfieldarts.org and LAG’s Facebook and Instagram pages (Lynnfieldarts).”
