Enjoyed knitting and summer trips to Rockport
MELROSE — Alice Mary Lank (Toner), 94 passed away on July 3 at CareOne at Wilmington. Born on December 5, 1929 in Melrose, she was the cherished daughter of Lawrence and Mary Toner and sister to Lawrence (Buddy) Toner, Jr., wife of Carroll B. Lank, Jr. all of whom preceded her in death.
Alice attended St. Mary’s in Melrose for both her primary and high school education before earning her degree from Fisher College. She dedicated many years to her career as a bookkeeper and office manager, retiring at the age of 72.
Alice was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation. She was deeply rooted in her community. Her hobbies included knitting, reading the Boston Globe daily and enjoying summer trips to Rockport with friends. Alice was also an active participant in the “First Wednesday of the Month Club” with her school friends for many years.
Alice will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as by her many friends including those at the Levy Gould Retirement Home. Alice’s family is greatly appreciative of the care that she received at CareOne at Wilmington, Ascend Hospice & Palliative Care and the Staff at Levy Gould and Mystic Valley Elder Services.
Alice’s life will be honored and celebrated in accordance with the wishes of her family and friends. Her kindness, dedication and warm spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
