Loved baking

WAKEFIELD — Susan Day, age 73 of Wakefield passed away on Monday, July 29 at the Artis Senior Living Center in Reading.

Born in Winchester on January 1, 1951 to the late Charles F. and Rose (Fitzgerald) Day. She was the cherished sister of Rosemary Morgan of Lynnfield and the late Mary Ann O’Neil. Susan was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge. She went on to UMass Amherst where she graduated with a degree in Art. Susan had a lifelong passion for art and spent much of her quiet time drawing and coloring. She was also an incredibly talented calligrapher. 

She spent many years working as a copy editor for Towers Perrin and later for Fidelity Investments.  In her free time, she loved baking and for many years she enjoyed hosting an annual family Christmas gathering where her love for cooking and baking was on display and enjoyed by all.

In addition to her sister Rosemary Morgan of Lynnfield, Susan is survived by her nephew Jeffery Morgan and his wife Meghan of Lynnfield; her niece Kathryn Morgan and her fiancé Michael Paige of North Andover; and her niece Erin O’Neil and her husband Matthew Fitzgerald of Wakefield. She was the great aunt of Charles, Oliver and Henry Morgan of Lynnfield and the sister-in-law of Robert O’Neil of Wakefield.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Tuesday, August 6 at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield. For guestbook visit mcdonaldfs.com.
