Loved the finer things and enjoyed a good crossword puzzle
STONEHAM — The light of a gorgeous woman has gone out. Christine Lucia Razi of Stoneham died on September 2 at 12:03 a.m. after a short battle with lymphoma. She died peacefully with her beloved daughter Andrea and best friend Pam at her side.
Born in West Germany to her parents Ladislavs Reich and Margarethe (Schrom) on February 5, 1948, she along with her mother entered the United States through New York harbor when she was six years old settling in Chicago where she was raised. Growing up in the Wrigley neighborhood she recalled her family getting a Christmas tree on the day of Christmas Eve and stringing the tree with candles. When she was 11, she and her mom moved to Dobbs Ferry, NY where she graduated from Dobbs Ferry High School in 1965.
Christine made her way to college at the American College in Paris ere she met her future husband and father of her three children John Razi. She won the Deans Medal for the top student at AIC. The couple married on December 28, 1968 in Manchester, NH. They lived in Greenwich Village on 13th Street in New York City and then moved to an apartment in Scarsdale shortly after to Dobbs Ferry to care for her ailing mother. They lived next in Ardsley where they started a family and then settled in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY raising Al, Andrea and Ben.
Christine enjoyed the finer things in life: big bustling sophisticated cities, fine restaurants, music, fashion, shoes, makeup, a great television series such as The Sopranos or Schitt’s Creek, a well written novel, Yorkshire terriers as well as wine and cheese. She was an excellent Scrabble player and crossword puzzle solver. For her working years, she sold fur and leather and managed high end boutique shops. Later after moving to MA in 2014 to live near her daughter and granddaughters, she became a pharmacy technician relearning algebra and Latin in her later 60s.
Christine had the pleasure of living in many beautiful and adventurous places Paris, NYC, Denver, San Francisco, Chicago and Washington DC. Small town girl, she was NOT! She loved the big city, high rises and ocean views.
She leaves behind her cherished daughter Andrea and her wife Jennifer Razi-Thomas and her two beloved granddaughters Cailin and Claire; along with her son Benjamin Razi and his two sons Luke and Lincoln; as well as her son Alexander and his wife Kristi. Additionally, she will be missed by her dear friends Pam Edwards of Chicago, IL and Cathy Sang of Wakefield.
The family would like to thank The Fuller House in Stoneham for the care and support they offered to Christine in her last year of her life. She thrived there and reconnected to the world after being isolated during the COVID years. The home and love she was offered provided her joy and comfort.
