MELROSE MARCHING BAND 2024

MELROSE — All are invited to join the Melrose Marching Band and Color Guard this Saturday, September 21 at Fred Green Field in Melrose for their Home Show Marching Competition featuring nine bands from across the state. Bands take the field starting at 6 p.m. Melrose performs their show Art Imitates Live around 7 p.m. 

The Marching Competition culminates with awards presentations and a performance by the Boston University Marching Band. It will be a fantastic evening of music, marching and competition on Fred Green Field. Tickets are on sale for  $15/adult and $10/student and seniors. Grilled burgers, hot dogs and sausages are for sale and don’t miss out on the band’s famous Apple Crisp.

Cash/Card/Venmo accepted. Parking is across the street at the Knoll or along the Fellsway. The Marching Band Home Show is an annual event. Come show your Melrose pride and cheer on the Band.

The 2024 Melrose Marching Band is under the direction of new Melrose Band Director Ben Vermilyea; Assistant Director Tim Corvene; and Color Guard Director Casey Doherty. The band’s competition show this year is called Art Imitates Life with music arranged by Jack Tully and features a number of talented Melrose High School soloists and energetic playing and marching by the 65 member Melrose Band. The Home Show on September 21 kick’s off the band’s competition season with competitions across the state each Saturday through to finals on Sunday November 2. In addition to Saturday competitions, catch the Melrose Band during halftime and in the stands at all Melrose home football games including the Thanksgiving Day Game against Wakefield played in Melrose this year.
