WAKEFIELD — On Saturday, October 5 Wakefield’s Woodville Elementary School hosted its annual Teddy Trot, a 5K race around Lake Quannapowitt. This year’s event was a resounding success attracting 138 runners and walkers resulting in a record-breaking fundraising year to date with over $22,000 raised. The proceeds will directly benefit the Woodville School PTO supporting field trips, in-school arts and science programs, purchasing of gym equipment, library books and much more.

The 5k race winners were 18+: Thomas Lord and Jamie Murphy; Junior: Benjamin Czerkowicz and Hannah Huskey; and Woodville: Bryce Murphy and Teagan Thistle. Our dash winners were 4th grade: Bryce Murphy and Sydney Marshall; 3rd grade: Isaac Omojola and Teagan Thistle; 2nd grade: Zachary Keating, Connor Dineen, Ruby Sorrentino and Phoebe Omojola; 1st grade: Matty Chambers, Sean Dineen and Bianca Murphy; Kindergarten: Jackson Cazeau and Lilly Liberti; and Preschool: Mario Torra and Ayla Krajewski.
Finally, race organizers would also like to thank Woodville School Staff, Woodville PTO, Wakefield DPW and the Wakefield Town Administration. This year’s race was a rrrrrroaring success and the Woodville bears are deeply grrrrrateful. Paws up!
