MELROSE — Melrose voters can cast their ballot for the November 5 General Election in one of three ways: in-person early voting, vote by mail or in-person on Election Day. 

The deadline to register to vote is Saturday, October 26 by 5 p.m. The City Clerk’s Office will be open until 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 for any eligible voter seeking to register. Eligible individuals can also register to vote online at sec.state.ma.us/ovr/. 

Vote By Mail: Mail-in ballots will be mailed to voters who completed a request to vote by mail. The Melrose Elections office has mailed out all ballots requested to date and the deadline to request a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, October 29 at 5 p.m. 

Ballots can be returned in one of the following ways: mailing it back in the postage-paid envelope provided; hand-delivering your ballot to the Elections office at City Hall during normal business
hours and early voting hours; or using the secure ballot drop box located in the alleyway between City Hall and the Melrose post office.

Mail-in ballots cannot be dropped off at a polling place on Election Day. 

Early voting begins October 20: Early in-person voting will begin on Sunday, October 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Melrose City Hall, 562 Main St. The full Early Voting schedule including weekday and weekend hours can be found at cityofmelrose.org/2024-early-voting and the last day for early voting is Friday, November 1. 

In-person voting on November 5: Election Day voting for all Melrose voters is held at the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School, 90 Melrose St. from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
