Loved golf, watching Boston sports and vacationing in Maine and Florida

MELROSE — Barry Stephen Logue, 83, of Melrose passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and dear friends on October 15.

Barry was born in Malden, the son of the late Charles and Ethel Logue. Raised and educated in Melrose, Barry graduated from Melrose High School, class of 1959 where he was a member of the Varsity Baseball, Hockey and Hall of Fame Golf team. He continued his education at Boston College. After college, Barry was employed by Allstate Insurance Company eventually owning his own insurance agency in Beverly until retirement.

In his free time and as an avid sportsman. Barry loved playing golf, horseracing and watching Boston College and Boston sports teams. Most of all, Barry enjoyed watching his own children and grandchildren participate and compete in sports themselves. He also enjoyed vacationing at his homes in Old Orchard Beach, ME and Longboat Key, FL. With his remarkable gift of quick wit, Barry loved making others laugh. We will leave you with one of his favorites: “BFN!”–Bye for now!

He was the beloved husband of Gail (Reardon) Logue, his wife of 58 years; devoted father of Kelly (Logue) Morgese and her husband Ron of Lynnfield; son Thomas Logue, his wife Kristin of Andover; and treasured son Joseph Logue of Melrose; adored grandfather of Evan and Sophia (Kelly) and Reagan and Jordan (Thomas). He is survived by his loving brothers James (Carina), Richard (Adrianna) and the late Charles Logue Jr. (Ina); and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose on Tuesday, November 5 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
