Jack of all trades who enjoyed his Harley and snowmobiling 

MELROSE — Andrew J. “Jimmy” Buchan, of Melrose passed away on November 4 at the age of 69.

Jimmy was born in Malden on June 2, 1955. He was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 1973. Jimmy was the son of the late Andrew and Patricia (Pinkney) Buchan. He is survived by his sister Adrienne Hefler and her husband Les of Melrose; his nephew Patrick Hefler and his wife Amber Otto; his nephew Jeffrey Hefler and his wife Nicole McCann; his two grand-nephews Henry and Erik Hefler; and good friends Linda and Jim Finnegan.

Jimmy was a carpenter and an all around handyman for many years in the lake’s region of NH maintaining summer cottages and opening/closing them for the season. He was a jack-of-all trades and could do anything from plumbing to re-shingling a roof.

He loved living in NH and enjoyed long rides on his Harley motorcycle with friends. In the winter, he snowmobiled on Lake Winnipesaukee. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends on Lake Wentworth where he taught his nephews to fish.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday, November 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. Followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home.
