WAKEFIELD – A granite paver on the Veterans’ Walk of Remembrance on Wakefield’s Veterans’ Memorial Common is a unique way to honor or memorialize a veteran or active service member this holiday season.

The Veterans’ Walk of Remembrance around the World War II memorial honors and recognizes the service of all veterans. A granite paver can be contributed in honor of, or in memory of, any veteran who has served or is currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States. The individual does not have to be a resident of Wakefield.

Pavers can be sponsored with a contribution of $500.00 for a 12” x 12” paver or $300.00 for a 6” x 12” paver.

Applications are available on the DPW’s page on the Town of Wakefield website www.wakefield.ma.us/public-works under the Quick Links section. Completed applications can be returned to Eric Sherman at the Wakefield Department of Public Works Engineering Division located in Town Hall, 1 Lafayette Street, or via email at esherman@wakefield.ma.us.

All paperwork must be completed and returned by December 15th if an acknowledgement of the sponsorship is required in time for the Christmas holiday. Pavers will be placed on the Veterans’ Walk of Remembrance in time for Memorial Day 2025.
