MELROSE — Michael T. Deal, of Melrose, died on Jan. 1 at the age of 34.
Michael was born and raised in Melrose and attended Melrose High School. He resided in Melrose for most of his life and Malden for several years. Michael’s daughter Isobel was the most important part of his life. He was a talented artist and enjoyed music, sports, fishing, drawing, riding his bike and hitting golf balls at the driving range. He had a great sense of humor, could light up a room and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Michael was the loving father of Isobel Penza. He was the devoted son of Denise D. Caughey of Melrose and Steven Deal of Somerville. He was the caring brother of Drew McCallum of Ohio; Alex McCallum of Melrose and Jesse McCallum of New Hampshire. He was the caring grandson of Leola McCallum of Melrose and Mary Coady of Somerville. He was the stepson of Daniel Caughey of Newbury. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, Jan 12 from 12-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
