WAKEFIELD — Following a month long investigation, Wakefield Police Detectives arrested William Saccardo, 67, of Wakefield for Trafficking in a Class A Substance (Heroin), Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Substance (subsequent offense), and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Substance (Methadone).
Following their investigation, Detectives Chris Grace and Jack Ryan were able to secure a search warrant for Saccardo’s residence at #35B Brook Street through Malden District Court, which was acted on Friday evening. With the assistance of the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force, police said that the bust resulted in the seizure of over 100 grams of heroin with a street value of approximately $10,000 along with several pills and over $8,000 in cash.
Police Chief Richard Smith noted, “This was excellent work by two of our experienced, top-notch narcotics investigators who continue to fight the supply chain that helps to feed the current opioid epidemic.”
