WAKEFIELD — Christine Dalziel Hayman, 96, passed away at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield, on March 26.
Christine was born in Scotland on March 20, 1920 to the late James and Helen (McGregor) Hayman. She was raised in Chelsea, graduated from St. Rose Grammar School in Chelsea and Burdett Business School in Boston.
Miss Hayman worked as an executive secretary at the General Electric Company Riverworks in Lynn for over 40 years. She has been a resident of Melrose since 1965, a longtime member of St. Mary Church — where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality, an Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Christian Service Communion Elderly Program. Christine was also a member of the Melrose 200 Club, Community Associates and AARP.
Miss Hayman was the caring sister of Margaret Scott of Melrose. She was the cherished aunt of Christine Carlson of Melrose, Janet Sacco of Topsfield and R. Joseph Scott of Georgia. She is also survived by several grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.
Visitation was held at St. Mary Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose on Thursday, March 31, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.
Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Christine’s name to St. Mary Church, 46 Myrtle St., Melrose MA 02176.
