School food costs up sharply

WAKEFIELD — The School Committee approved a transfer of $269,488.69 for Fiscal Year 2026 between food services accounts to cover health and life insurance costs of $122,540.54, retirement costs of $112,307, workers compensation ($24,072.04) and employer Medicare ($10,569.11), at their meeting Tuesday, June 23.
