Matriarch of large, loving family

SALEM, N.H. — Angelina T. Bonanno, 82, of Salem, N.H. passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She refused to let it define her.
She was born in Boston, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Raphaela (Bucci) Festino, the youngest of eight children. Mrs. Bonanno was a resident of Salem, N.H. for the past 27 years, formerly living in North Reading, Mass. The matriarch of her family, they all rallied around her. Family, food, friends and holidays were her favorite. She was very dedicated to her children and grandchildren and was happiest when her home and her table were full for big family dinners. She also enjoyed her winter home in Sarasota, Fla. where she had many friends, wintering there for close to 30 years. Her family and friends are glad that she was in their lives.
Mrs. Bonanno is survived by three children, Vincent Bonanno and his wife Linda of Windham, N.H., Ann Mahn and her husband Wayne of Salem, N.H., and Angela LaMarche of Salem, N.H., a daughter–in– law, Gail Bonanno of Salem, N.H., and eight grandchildren, Tori Pelletier and her husband Justin of Hampstead, N.H., Stephen Bonanno and his wife Meghan of Atkinson, N.H., Jaclyn and Nicole Bonanno, both of Salem, N.H., Anthony, Michael and Alex Mahn, all of Salem, N.H., and Kacie LaMarche of Salem, N.H.
She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Linda, Jacob and Madelyn; by two sisters, Anna Martorana of North Reading and Mary Cormio of Medford, and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony R. Bonanno on April 20, 1999 and by her son, Andrew Bonanno, in 2010.
Visiting hours were held Sunday, April 24 at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25 at St. Matthew Parish, 2 Searles Rd., Windham, N.H. Interment followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem, N.H.
