THE SUMMER DOUGHT has exposed the remains of the hull of the schooner that was once part of Pleasure Island, the theme amusement park that operated in Wakefield from 1959-1969 off what is now Audubon Road. The schooner sat in the pond that was used for both the "Moby Dick Hunt" boat ride and the Pirate Ride at the park. The area was redeveloped years later into what is now Edgewater Office Park.
