MELROSE — Parent University is coming back to Melrose on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Residents are invited to join the Melrose Education Foundation and the Melrose Public Schools for a free morning of workshops and discussions for parents and caregivers of children of all ages. Child care will be available, but registration is required.

Parent University will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Melrose High School Learning Commons, 360 Lynn Fells Parkway. Residents can learn more and register for this free event at melroseedfoundation.org.

The program is specifically designed to be of interest to parents and caregivers of all children — from preschool through grade 12. Parent University sessions will be offered on a wide range of topics, such as parenting for healthy teen relationships; early childhood literacy; social-emotional success in the classroom and beyond; Google classroom; teaching organizational skills, and planning for college.

Featured speakers include: Robert T. Jones, associate director of the Office of Multicultural Education at Holy Cross, and senior training consultant for the Anti-Defamation League, who will lead a dynamic workshop on building more supportive, inclusive communities. Julie Shields-Rutyna, the director of college planning at the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA), will lead a session on college admissions and financing. Megina Baker, M.A.T., a researcher at Project Zero at Harvard Graduate School of Education, will conduct a workshop called Raising a Reader, Raising a Writer.
