WAKEFIELD — Rosemary E. B. Wickstrom, 71, of Wakefield died on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Wakefield Center Nursing Home.
Born in Boston on June 17, 1945, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Lily (Marion) Buckley.
Mrs. Wickstrom was a lifelong Wakefield resident and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1963.
She was a retired secretary to the Vice President of Finance at Northeastern University.
Mrs. Wickstrom was a member of the Wakefield Eastern Star and the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Wakefield.
On the church Facebook page, Rev. Matthew Cadwell writes, “Most of us remember Rosemary on the arm of her beloved husband Carl Wickstrom, a devoted member of our parish choir. For many years Carl and Rosemary have lived in the very same house that Rosemary grew up in here in Wakefield, built by her father.”
Carl Wickstrom said he is with the bagpipers of The Kilwinning Club of Boston, aka the Masonic Sons of the Scottish Glens. His wife’s nickname was “Wee Highland Mousie” and she accompanied him on public outings with the Kilwinning Club. “She looked glamorous,” he said, sitting there in the front row.
She is survived by her husband Carl W. Wickstrom, her daughter Natica Wickstrom of Wakefield and her three sisters: Donna Lussier Malone of West Bridgewater, Barbara Lussier Kolsciezski of Dedham and Shirley M. Penison
Interment will take place at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody, on Friday at 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 5 Bryant St., Wakefield at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
