Freemanobit-webWakefield – David F. Freeman, 73, died Sunday, April 9, at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry Frederick and Stella (Hollister) Freeman. He earned his PhD and undergraduate studies at MIT in Cambridge and his master’s degree from Babson College.

Mr. Freeman was a co-proprietor of the WITS Corporation in Waltham until the time of his passing.

A longtime resident of Wakefield, he was an active and dedicated member of the Park Street Church in Boston. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving him are two daughters, Katharine A. Weiner and her husband Jeff of Wakefield, and Karen Freeman of London, England; two grandchildren, Nathan and Emily Weiner; a sister, Pamela VanHeyningen of Michigan, as well as her children, Marc VanHeyningen and Deborah VanHeyningen and other nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Lawrence Freeman.

His memorial service will be celebrated at the Park Street Church, One Park Street, Boston on Saturday, April 22, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Parking available at the One Beacon Street garage or the Boston Common garage.
