NORTH READING – The 32nd Annual Horseshoe Grille Golf Tournament is in the books for 2017. This year’s proceeds will be donated to the Jimmy Fund and Burbank YMCA. This year’s event raised over $25,000 for the two charities. 2017 marks the 62nd year the Lee family and the Horseshoe will be donating to the Jimmy Fund. The fundraising efforts started with Pat & Veronica Lee in 1955. Softball games, road races and now golf tournaments have been the corner stones of the fundraising efforts. Through the years the Horseshoe has donated almost $750,000 to the Jimmy Fund and other local projects such as KidSpot and Ipswich River Park. The key to such strong results year after year is the strong support generosity of the tournament’s many sponsors. Local businesses and families have been supporting this event for over 30 years.
This year’s First Place team from the Augusta Busch Co: Paul DeSisto, Jimmy Sullivan, Jimmy Sullivan Sr. & Keith Sullivan at 10 under. Second Place, a new team, of Daniel Bahr, Ryan Shaw, Bill Nichols & Luke Morris. Third Place was the ever entertaining group of John Meaney, Brain Meaney, Chuck Cimalone & Dave Doherty.
