MELROSE — Aferdita “Dita” (Pero) Mico, 82, the younger daughter of the late Krisanthi and Arthur Pero and sister of the late Fillareti Dishnica, entered the eternal life peacefully on January 25, 2018.

Dita was born and raised in Albania, where she worked as a teacher for 30 years. She loved working with kids and she also enjoyed cooking. She loved spending time with her family and her many friends and cousins. She and her family moved to the United States after her retirement in 1994. She was the beloved wife of Niko Mico. Loving mother of Llazar Mico, Arthur Mico and his wife Anila. She was a loving nana to Arthur’s children Chris and Luna and was always so happy to spend time with them. Her family and friends will always remember her as loving, caring and a great joyful person.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Saturday, January 27, followed by the funeral service. Interment followed at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dita’s name to Care One Peabody Nursing Home, 199 Andover Street Peabody, MA 01960.
