MELROSE — Priscilla J. (Mahoney) Granfield, 83, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on May 30, 2018.

Priscilla was born in Cambridge, raised in Melrose and a graduate of St. Mary’s School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Regis College in Chemistry and her master’s degree in Education from Boston University. Priscilla worked as a teacher for the Burlington High School for many years and Melrose High School for several years.

She loved spending time at her family home in W. Dennis on Cape Cod and wintered in Naples, Fla. for 15 years. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Bermuda, Ireland and driving cross country several times. Priscilla loved going to breakfast with her husband and spending time at Hampton Beach.

Priscilla was the beloved wife of the late Patrick E. Granfield for 60 years. Loving mother of Jacqueline Ferguson and her husband James of Manchester, N.H., and Maria Granfield of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Erin and Molly Ferguson. Sister of John Mahoney, Jr. and his wife Rosemary, of N.J., William Mahoney and his wife Denyce of Medford and Charlotte Mahoney and her husband Peter Albert of Washington, D.C. Dear Cousin of Margaret McManus of W. Yarmouth. Sister-in- law of the late Nancy Mahoney. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Procession from the Gately Funeral Home on Friday, June 8 at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
