Mechanic for E.F. Shay in Wilmington

ORANGE, Vt. — William A. Richardson, 84, of Orange, Vt. and a North Reading native, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his home with his loving family at his bedside.
Born in Somerville, Mr. Richardson was the son of Carrie and Elwood Richardson. He graduated from the Somerville Trade School as an electrician. Mr. Richardson served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
He was a large truck and equipment mechanic for E.F. Shay in Wilmington for 30 years.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, Janet Richardson; sister, Lillian Martin of North Reading; brother, Donald Richardson; 12 children, 35 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, July 14 at 11 a.m. on the family’s land at 475 Cold Spring Road in Williamstown, Vermont.
The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, is assisting his family with the arrangements.
