NORTH READING — Are you a member of the North Reading business community? Do you own commercial property in town? Perhaps you also run your own business locally?
Then take note!
The town’s Economic Development Committee (EDC) is throwing a party and you’re invited. Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 24 to head on over to the ballroom at Kitty’s Restaurant, 123 Main St., from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and be prepared for an informative night.
This is a free event where you’ll mix and mingle with like-minded professionals and business owners for the first half hour, during registration. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available.
A one-hour workshop will follow hosted by EDC members who will bring business professionals up to speed on a variety of topics, including the most recent developments concerning the town’s infrastructure goals as it relates to both water and wastewater. EDC Chairman Sean Delaney reported to Town Meeting that the current goal for the development of wastewater infrastructure in town is “six to 10 years.”
Also to be discussed at the workshop will be zoning and permitting and potential tax incentive programs.
The itinerary will conclude with an open forum for questions and feedback.
While the event is free, the EDC requests attendees send an RSVP to: planning@northreadngma.gov by Monday, October 21 to help them plan for the food.
The North Reading Economic Development Committee (EDC), created in 2015, serves as an advisory board to both the Select Board and Community Planning Commission (CDC) and both boards jointly appoint members. The EDC focuses on developing the town’s economy and strengthening local businesses.
