BOSTON — Come watch more than a dozen Dana-Farber Cancer Institute doctors, researchers, and staff play a charity hockey game against the Boston Bruins Alumni to benefit the Jimmy Fund, which supports adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber.
The game will be held 1 p.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at the Veterans Memorial Rink in Somerville.
“As a longtime hockey player, I wanted a way to combine my love of hockey with my passion for supporting the Dana-Farber mission,” said David Read, Vice President of Ambulatory Care Operations and Medical Oncology, who is leading this new fundraising initiative. “The Dana-Farber Rink Rats will make their official debut when we take on the Bruins Alumni in this charity hockey game.”
All participants will raise a minimum of $1,000 in order to play in the April 4 game. Game tickets for spectators are $20 for adults and $10 children, and are available online and at the door.
