Enjoyed camping and the outdoor life

WAKEFIELD— Edward H. Munroe, 45, of Wakefield passed away on March 13, 2021 with his family and friends by his side. Born in Melrose on August 22, 1975, Ed was the son of Edward F. and Marybeth (Cole) Munroe. Ed was a graduate of Massabesic High School in Maine, class of 1994, where he was a standout athlete on the baseball field earning multiple awards and recognition. He then attended the University of Maine where he earned his Associates degree in Art.
After moving to Massachusetts, Ed’s passion for baseball quickly became a passion for fatherhood with the birth of his two children with his former spouse, Ingrid Munroe. Ed found the most joy spending time with his children and his family. He enjoyed the outdoor life; camping was one of his favorite pastimes, where he would enjoy building fires, swimming, and fishing with his children. During the spring season, Ed would never miss any of Christopher’s Little League games and enjoyed watching Sofia’s dance recitals.
Ed is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Munroe of Wakefield, his two children, Christopher and Sofia of Saugus, his parents, Edward and Marybeth Munroe of Maine, his former wife Ingrid Munroe and her parents Charles and Kris Rankin, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Due to the current health crisis, funeral services will be private.
