WOBURN – A 63-year-old Montrose Avenue man died Saturday night after reportedly suffering a heart attack while driving on Eastern Avenue in Malden.
According to authorities, John Ruvido was traveling eastbound on Eastern Avenue in the vicinity of Sharon and Lisbon streets around 11 p.m. when he was stricken. His 2002 Ford Taurus crossed Eastern Avenue and crashed into a 2012 Chevrolet Impala heading west.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s issues releases on motor vehicular homicides. Ryan said, “Two vehicles collided on Eastern Avenue. An investigation indicates that the vehicle Ruvido was operating crossed into the other lane of travel, struck another vehicle head-on, and when emergency responders arrived on the scene, they found Mr. Ruvido unconscious.”
The Malden Police Department received a call that there had been a crash at approximately 11 p.m., on Saturday, March 28. Emergency responders found Ruvido unconscious at the scene, he was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, and later passed away. Two occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash received minor injuries. Witness reports indicate that the vehicle Ruvido was driving crossed into the other lane of travel and struck the second vehicle.
This incident was investigated by the Malden Police Department. Investigators notified Wakefield Police of the incident around 11:30 Saturday night.
