LYNNFIELD — Absentee ballots for Lynnfield’s annual election on Monday, April 11 are now available in the Town Clerk’s office, 55 Summer St.

State election laws require that absentee ballots be available to registered voters who meet one of the following three criteria:

• Absent from the town during hours the polls are open

• Physical disability which would prevent voting at the polling place

• Religious beliefs that would prevent participation on the day of the election

An application must be completed and received by the Town Clerk by noon on the day prior to the election, which is Friday, April 8. Residents can call the Town Clerk’s office to request an application at 781-334-9400 or send a handwritten note to the office at 55 Summer St., Lynnfield MA 01940.

Applications can also be downloaded from the town’s website at www.town.lynnfield.ma.us and going to the Town Clerk’s page under “elections.”

Absentee ballots must be delivered through the U.S. Mail to each requester or voters may cast their ballot in person at the Town Clerk’s office during normal office hours. The Clerk’s office is open Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Please allow ample time for mailing application and ballots in order for them to be returned no later than the close of polls on April 11 at 8 p.m.
