This is a friendly reminder that the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency has resulted in changes to North Reading parks and recreation facilities. These changes are in addition to annual early-spring field closures.
The following facilities are open with social distancing restrictions in effect, requiring individuals to be six feet or more away from each other and in groups of no more than 10 people:
• Ipswich River Park walking paths
• Arthur J. Kenney track
• Eisenhaure Pond Park walking paths
It is the town’s desire to keep these facilities open; however, that is only possible if social distancing is being respected.
Families are asked to understand that their or their child’s visit to the park is welcome and encouraged, but either planned or coincidental group visits are detrimental to the town’s efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.
In order to reduce opportunity for transmission of the COVID-19 virus, the following facilities are closed:
• Ipswich River Park playground and swingset, skate park, basketball court, tennis courts and street hockey rink
• Ipswich River Park fields
• Arthur J. Kenney field
• Kidspot (playground and swingset)
• Maguire Field and basketball court
• Benevento fields
• School Department fields
• Clarke Park playground and swingset and basketball court
• Hillview Golf Course
Let’s all do our part and respect the recommended social distancing guidelines. Our collective hope is that committing to these restrictions now will shorten the duration of the public health emergency, allowing us to resume group activities sooner.
Thank you for your cooperation!
