LYNNFIELD — Lynnfield High School graduate Sammi Albanese is looking for the support of her hometown at her Dining for a Cause fundraiser at the Ninety-Nine Restaurant as she prepares to complete her first Boston Marathon in 2017.
The fund-raiser will be held on Monday, Jan. 9 at the Ninety-Nine, 317 Salem St., from 5 to 10 p.m. to benefit her Boston Marathon charity, Bottom Line Inc. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of the proceeds of each guest check (minus tax and gratuity) to this nonprofit organization which helps students from low-income households achieve their dream of attending college.
Guests must present a voucher to their server in order for Albanese’s charity to receive the funds. Vouchers can be printed from her crowdrise fundraising website by using the following link: https://www.crowdrise.com/bottomlineboston2017/fundraiser/samanthaalbanese.
Albanese ran competitively for both the Pioneers and Bentley University, from which she obtained her undergraduate degree last spring. She held the women’s steeplechase record at Bentley. She currently works for State Street Corp. in Boston. She will run her first marathon on Patriots’ Day 2017.
“I’m running the Boston Marathon for Bottom Line because I believe it is imperative for all high school students to have the opportunity to go to college and earn a degree especially in today’s uncertain economy. Bottom Line plans to provide guidance to more than 2,700 students from Boston and Worcester in 2017,” Albanese told the Villager. “A student should not be held back by lack of guidance or living in a low-income household.”
To date, she has raised just over $1,500 toward her goal of $7,500 to support the organization with just about 100 days left to Marathon Monday in Boston.
