Longtime letter carrier in NR

Aldo-Vittozzi-1-webNORTH READING – Aldo Vittozzi, 88, of North Reading, died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Winchester Hospital.

Born on May 8, 1928 in Rome, Italy to Domenica Santarelli , Aldo later immigrated to the United States in 1958 and became a life long resident of North Reading. He received numerous commendations for his 35 years of exemplary service as a letter carrier for the North Reading branch of the US Postal Service. He was also a proud member of St. Theresa’s Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Sons of Italy in Wilmington.

Aldo’s inspirational journey to America is a testament to his courageousness and strong convictions to provide a better life for himself and his family. He was a wonderful patriarch to a large, traditional, Italian family whose immense love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was insurmountable. He was an avid bowler, loved gardening and had a passion for making homemade wine with his children and grandchildren.

Family members include his beloved wife of 54 years Adriana Vittozzi; sons, Richard Vittozzi, Marco Vittozzi and his wife Kimberly, Roberto Vittozzi and his wife Adele, and Aldo Vittozzi and his wife Terri, all of North Reading; his daughter, Carla Morlani and her husband Anthony of Wilmington; his brother Ettore Santarelli and his wife Janice of Methuen; his sisters, Enza Sonaglia and her husband Nino of Rome, Italy, the late Rosella Benedetto and her late husband Anthony; cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Paul, Marco Elio, Giuliana, Adriana, Aldo, Michael, Mia, Anthony, Angelo, Valentina, the late Brianna and great granddaughter Gianna; many nieces and nephews as well as many relatives in Italy.

Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street., North Reading, on Monday, February 27, from 4 to 8 PM. . Funeral Services will be private. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, North Reading.
