WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League’s boys’ cross country coaches met recently to select the All-Star teams for both the Freedom and Liberty Divisions.

The Freedom Champion WMHS boys’ cross country team had plenty to celebrate as they had five All-Stars selected to lead the Freedom Division. The Warriors won all six of their regular season meets to take first in the division for the third consecutive year.

Wakefield then went on to get second at the Div. 3 State Meet and followed that up with a top-10 finish in the snow at All States.

Wakefield’s three senior captains all made the All-Star list: Casey Brackett, Rohan Singhvi and Billy Stevens. Juniors Tanner Jellison and Matt Roberto also made the list.

The Warriors also had two selections to the seven-member All-Conference team as Roberto and Singhvi both got the nod thanks to their impressive times at the League Meet.

Burlington was next in the Freedom with three All-Stars, followed by two each from Stoneham and Wilmington. Melrose and Watertown each had one selection.

Arlington led the Liberty Division with five selections. Lexington was next with four, followed by two from Woburn and one each for Winchester, Belmont and Reading.

Wakefield’s two All-Conference team members (Singhvi and Roberto) were tied for the most as both Arlington (Ryan Oosting and Jeffrey Candell) and Lexington (Nicholas Porter and Eli Gappelberg) each had two make the list. Burlington’s Rishabh Prakash also made the All-Conference team.
