CHELSEA — Amedio “Chico” Civiello, 82, passed away Nov. 6 at the Soldiers Home in Chelsea.

Born in Lynn on Dec. 31, 1932, he was the son of the late Amedio and Frances (Prezioso) Civiello.

Mr. Civiello was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1950. He served in the U.S Navy, stationed in San Diego. He worked and retired from the Lynn Public Library and lived in California for 30 years. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing cribbage and bowling with his friends.

He was always willing to give a helping hand.

Mr. Civiello was the beloved husband of Elvira “Vi” (Bandoni) Civiello. He was the loving father of Gayle Koffler and husband Kyle of California, Michael Civiello of California, Gary Civiello of California. He was the step-father of Linda Black of Reading, Kathleen McCarthy of Wilmington, Albert Lanzo of Saugus and Lori Ruggiero and husband Rick of Reading. He was the brother of Matilda MacCauley of Florida and the late Daniel Civiello, Dominic Civiello and Frances Casey. He is survived by 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, Nov. 19 at noon. Visitations for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.. Interment will be private.
