Anna-Morgan-obit-webMELROSE — Anna E. (Doucette) Morgan, of Melrose, formerly of Lynn, died at the Wakefield Center Nursing Home in Wakefield on Dec. 30, 2015 at the age of 97.
Anna was born and raised in Lynn. She resided in Lynn for over 90 years and the past eight years in Melrose. Anna worked at General Electric for over 44 years before her retirement and was a member of the Riverettes at General Electric for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and spending her time with her family. At the age of 95, Anna rode four roller coasters at Disney World and loved to travel to England, Scotland, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Canada, the Grand Canyon and Caribbean Cruises.
Anna was the beloved wife of the late James P. Morgan, Sr. for 51 years. She was the loving mother of Paul Morgan, Jr., and his wife Jayne of Melrose. She was the cherished grandmother of James P. Morgan, III and his fiancé Morgan Paterson of Brighton; and Diana Morgan Shrewsberry and her husband Jesse of Manchester-by-the-Sea. She was the beloved aunt of David and George Wright, both of New Hampshire.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Jan. 8 from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
