NORTH READING — Town Day, a celebration of “All things North Reading” organized annually by the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce, returns this Sunday, September 18 to Ipswich River Park, 15 Central St.

This family-friendly event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature continuous shuttles between nearby North Reading High School – where there is plenty of parking – and Ipswich River Park.

Town Day includes two free headline shows plus four performances featuring students who attend three local dancing schools and one local martial arts studio.

NOTEorious, the internationally award-winning a cappella group from North Reading High School, opens the day’s performances at 11:30 a.m.

This a cappella show will be followed by headliner Annie Brobst. The country singer and her band, who won Country Act of the Year, Song of the Year and Overall Act of the Year at the 2021 New England Music Awards for her 2021 hit album “When We Holler,” will perform a two-hour set of original music and cover tunes from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

 

ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE

The day’s nonstop entertainment lineup is as follows:

  • 12:30 PM: The Dancing School
  • 1:00 PM: Cervizzi’s Martial Arts
  • 1:30 PM: North Reading School of Ballet
  • 2:00 PM: East Coast Dance

Fans are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the shows in comfort.

Food vendors, most of whom will accept cash, include:

OUTDOOR FUN ACTIVITIES

The free outdoor fun continues with lots of inflatables and carnival games for all ages enjoy as well as pony rides, speed pitch and more due to the generosity of local business sponsors.

A total of 65 vendors are slated to participate in Town Day so be sure to visit their booths, view the services and products that they have to offer and check out their Town Day give-aways, family-friendly activities and games.

Egan noted that these vendors pre-registered to participate in Town Day but occasionally; a vendor may need to cancel at the last minute. For updates visit readingnreadingchamber.org.
