WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield Independence Day Committee will be hosting its annual carnival fundraiser at the Galvin Middle School beginning on Tuesday, April 18, and running through Saturday, April 22.

The hours of operation are Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.; and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.

You can purchase ride tickets individually or in blocks, but the best buy is $25 for a wristband. With a wristband, you have unlimited rides for a four hour period of time. Those four hours run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. weeknights, 12 noon to 5 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Please check with the person in the ticket booth as to what ticket option give you the best bang for your buck.

What better way is there to spend a few hours than to take a ride on the Round-Up, walk the midway, play a game of skill (or chance!); or munch on some popcorn and cotton candy!

All proceeds from the carnival go toward making sure the largest 4th of July parade in the area continues.
