Anthony-Piscitello-webSTONEHAM — Anthony A. Piscitello, 81, of Stoneham, formerly of Melrose, died peacefully surrounded by family on May 6.

Anthony was born in Hartford, CT on September 28, 1935 to Albert and Frances (Longo) Piscitello. He was raised in Hartford and graduated from Weaver High School. In 1958 Anthony joined the United States Army and served honorably from 1958-1962 during the Cold War.

After his time in the service he married the love of his life, the late Marie P. (Bono) Piscitello, and they were married for 43 years. They lived in Medford for 10 years before moving to Melrose and raising their family.

Anthony was a plumber for the Local 12 Plumbers Union. He enjoyed gardening, and loved to cook and eat. Anthony and Marie spent much of the summer in Hampton, NH, and made trips to Italy and Austria. Most importantly, Anthony loved spending time with his family. He was a true family man and was happiest when family surrounded him. He was a proud grandfather and enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s’ events. He will be greatly missed by all of them.

He was the loving father of Anthony A. Piscitello and his wife Emily of North Reading, Michael C. Piscitello and his wife Colleen, and Robert J. Piscitello and his wife Jill. He was the devoted grandfather of Jennifer, Gregory, Kaelie, Anthony, Meaghan and Michael. He is caring brother of Joseph Piscitello, Marie Richard, Francis Piscitello, and the late Peter Piscitello. Also survived by many brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, from 4-8 p.m. at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 9 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, North Reading. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
