U.S. Army veteran of World War II
QUINCY — Anthony J. Schena of Quincy, died October 29, 2014. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy E. (Caputo) Schena and the loving father of Ronald A. Schena and his wife Rachael of New Mexico and Marilyn Fitzsimmons and her husband Bill of Atlanta, GA. He was the cherished grandfather of Eric Schena and his wife Heather of Virginia, Riyanon Keep and her husband Eric of Colorado and Laurel Fitzsimmons of Medford. He was also the great–grandfather of Jaxon and Laila and the brother of Carl Schena of California, Richard Schena of Washington, DC, Lillian Kelley of Methuen, Rita Barter of Florida and the late Helen, Louis, Eleanor, Alfred, Margaret, Buddy and Dorothy.
Tony was born and raised in Revere. He lived in North Reading for 55 years before moving to Quincy seven years ago. He worked as a steel fabricator for American Architectural in East Boston for 53 years before retiring in 1987. Tony was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran and a member of the VFW in North Reading. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family he was so devoted to all of his life. Tony is remembered by his family as a kind, loving and very positive person. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved him.
Relatives and friends attended visiting hours on Sunday, Nov. 2 in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A celebration of Tony’s Life Service was held in the funeral home on Nov. 3, prior to a funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy. Burial was in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
